For Nataša Komatina, the flower is an expression in an aesthetic sense. Primarily captivated by its visual qualities – form, color, composition, the play of light and shadow, refined taste, and personal impression – she does not search for symbolic meaning, healing properties, or the Latin names of genus and species. Her photographs are not burdened by ecological rhetoric, mysticism, religious, or scientific discourse; they are artistically purified, stylized, and minimalist compositions of Nature’s DNA and us as its masterpiece. Us as creators and us as the audience, always fascinated and questioning in front of the eternal enigma of Nature.”
