Unstretched and Clean Canvas instinctively sparked inspiration in us. That fabric becomes a creative object, a starting point for further exploration and creation. Through the experience of reshaping the painting canvas, we transform mere fabric into a three-dimensional experience. We pose the question of the boundaries between painting and sculpture and invite visitors to examine the limits of their own perception. This approach to the medium represents, for us, a kind of amalgamation of childlike curiosity and artistic exploration, where each action is a step toward discovering new forms and possibilities.
While this approach to artistic exploration is reflected in our attention to the technical aspects of creation and the skill of painting, the process itself was deeply inspired by the music we listened to while creating. We aimed to transfer that vibration, rhythm, and emotion into our work. Relying on visual expression, we sought to shape the works in a way that reflected the melodies that inspired us, conveying harmony. One of us attempted to bring to life the rhythm that resonated through musical tones by repeating clear forms and shapes, while the other, through vivid colors, tried to convey the liveliness born from subtle musical presence.
The series itself stemmed from the desire to explore a shared creative space—two sisters coming together to break free from the conventional framework of public artistic representation, engaging in a dialogue of opposing sensibilities.
