An exhibition of photographs/portraits, modified through cutting and weaving.
Andreja Vasiljević, a photographer, designer, sculptor, and multimedia artist, brings an innovative approach to the presentation of photographs, portraits collected over 12 years of travel. His latest project stems from a desire to make the observer linger longer before the photographs, to explore and discover the details that are important to them. The primary focus is directed toward the smile and the gaze, two crucial parameters by which we assess another person. By playing with colors, cutting, and reassembling (weaving) portraits, the artist effectively uses this innovative technique to draw the viewer’s attention toward exploring emotion, gaze, expression, symbolism…
About the Artist:
Andreja developed his creative career across the American continents, working as an Advertising Creative Director and a professor at the world’s most prestigious school of creative marketing, Miami Ad School. He has not exhibited his works in Serbia until now. His photographs, sculptures, and multimedia panels made from recycled elements decorate companies and private collections across the USA. He is highly active in the development of festival-oriented functional art (sculptures/buildings from wood/metal, art cars). As a photographer, he specializes in documentary, editorial, and fashion photography, with most of his photographs coming from his project EVO ENO ETO Portraits.
