This year’s 18th Betina Photography of the Year exhibition will open today at 6:00 PM at Dorćol Platz in Belgrade, and awards will be presented to the authors of the best works submitted for the 2021 contest.
At the opening, the German Ambassador to Serbia, Thomas Schib, whose embassy also supported the organization of the event, will speak.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to see 44 selected photographs out of 308 submissions to the contest.
This year, 72 authors from nine countries of Southeast Europe competed for the Betina Photography of the Year award.
The jury, composed of art historian Milena Marjanović and photographers Nenad Petrović and Imre Sabo, decided on the first, second, and third prizes in the main competition.
From this year, Betina also introduced a thematic award for the best photograph in the field of life and inclusion of people with special needs.
The newly established award is named after the recently deceased actor from Belgrade, Damjan Diklić.
A public award will also be presented.
This year, more than 550,000 people viewed the photographs on Facebook and Instagram, and 24,000 visitors participated in the voting.
