The title of the exhibition suggests the idea of personal marking and the formation of a textile library, with the primary concept focusing on displaying the results of exercises aimed at developing awareness of artistic research and the design process in the field of textiles. In the fourth edition of the Texlibris exhibition, works by first and second-year students from the Faculty of Applied Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade, Department of Textiles, created in the Textile Design course, are presented.

Stripes are one of the key visual aspects of woven structure design and the thematic framework of the Texlibris 4 exhibition. The first-year students were tasked with visually contemplating the concept of stripes using various manual techniques on paper. The rhythm of text, arabesques, emotional states, significant events in their lives, etc., were contextualized through stripes, and conceptual solutions on paper were transposed into small structures of nonwoven and woven textiles.

In finding an appropriate way to transpose their ideas from paper into the realization of structures, students worked with visual elements specific to the field of textiles, mastering basic textile principles of form-building. The exhibited miniature forms are notes of their working process.

The task for the second-year students was to document (using mobile or available cameras) the appearance of stripes, or what they perceive as stripes in their environment. The selected digital photographs were transformed into conceptual solutions using vector programs, and then into woven structures. All three segments of the working process are presented in this exhibition. The concept of rhythm and repetition, structure and texture, characteristic of textile design, were also areas of experimentation for the students.

The works were created in collaboration with Árpád Pulaij, Senior Art Associate at the Department of Textiles, FPU. The logo and visual identity of the exhibition were created by Slaviša Savić, Graphic Designer and Assistant Professor at FPU.
