We invite you to the opening of the exhibition Žene u fokusu at Galerija Ozon (Dorćol Platz) in Belgrade at 6 PM.

The exhibition Žene u fokusu is the result of the national photo competition “Žene u fokusu” organized by the European Union Delegation to Serbia and National Geographic in Serbian.
The five-member jury, consisting of Goranka Matić, photographer and historian; Aleksandar Kelić, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade; Igor Rill, editor, National Geographic Serbia; David Pužado, Belgrade Photo Month; and Daliborka Nikolić, EU Info Network, selected four winning and 16 best photographs from over 1,500 submissions to the competition.

Through the lenses of professional photographers, amateurs, and enthusiasts, you can discover portraits of strong women role models who defy gender barriers.

The idea behind this initiative is to draw attention to women who not only inspire us daily with their strength, perseverance, and creativity, but also remind us that gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls are prerequisites for sustainable development, social cohesion, and a prosperous society.

With this exhibition, we also join in celebrating International Women’s Day, which is observed every year on 8th March.

The “Žene u fokusu” competition was also part of the campaign through which the EU Delegation in Serbia joined the international campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”, which begins each year on 25th November and lasts until 10th December.

The exhibition Žene u fokusu will be open at Galerija Ozon (Dorćol Platz) in Belgrade from 8th to 17th March 2022.
